Having a NECA-IBEW Electricians contractor work on your electrical construction, installation and maintenance projects means you only have electrical professionals who have gone through the bona-fide training programs of the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) working on your projects. These programs include apprenticeships, journeymen upgrade training and contractor training.
The NJATC is a joint labor-management effort between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), which fully fund the NJATC’s educational programs. On a local level, NECA-IBEW Electricians works to develop and standardize training to educate electricians and apprentices to provide the electrical construction industry with the most highly skilled workforce possible.
These vigorous, certified educational programs provide apprentices and journeymen with state-of-the-art entry and upgrade training – making them the most qualified electricians and technicians in the areas of:
- Residential Wireman
- Journeyman Lineman
- Journeyman Tree Trimmer
- Journeyman Inside Wireman
- Telecommunication VDV Installer-Technician
NECA-IBEW Electricians’ world-class training program includes:
- An award-winning five-year comprehensive program involving more than 900 hours of classroom study in electrical theory and project safety
- 8,000 hours of on-the-job training with experienced electricians
Apprenticeships
With this partnership training program, apprentices get benefits that include free schooling, wages and health care. NECA-IBEW Electricians’ unsurpassed entry-level training programs for apprentices are conducted in state-of-the-art training facilities and are approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship, U.S. Department of Labor, and the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council.
Journeyman Upgrade Training
NECA-IBEW Electricians’ employee electricians are constantly offered continuing education through the NJATC so that they are well-schooled in all advances made in the electrical construction industry.
Contractor Education
The NJATC also offers a number of technical courses, including its annual National Training Institute, to NECA contractors to help them keep abreast of the ever-changing electrical contractor business.
