Apply online – New JATC websites enable easier apprentice application process

Launched earlier this month, newly refreshed websites for the Warren and Youngstown Area JATCs include the functionality to apply for electrician apprentice programs online.

“We not only updated the site’s design to give it a fresh look, but we added convenience features for our members and applicants,” said Eric Davis, Warren Electrical JATC training director.

Both training centers not only added a fillable form application for the commercial and residential apprentice programs, but they incorporated an e-commerce component for applicants to pay the $30 test fee online, as well.

Going forward, each training center plans to expand the convenience features to include journeyman evaluation forms and training documentation for apprentices.

“The current site is modest first step to making our respective websites a greater resource for our members, as well as a tool to make administering our training programs more efficient,” said Ed Emerick, Youngstown Area Electrical JATC training director.
