CR Electric residential project in Austintown - running power to shed in backyard.

CR Electric connects expertise to residential electrical work

Not all projects take weeks or months to complete, but CR Electric applied a lot of expertise and attention to detail on a recent residential job.

Electricians were called to Austintown to run power from a house to a newly built 16-by-20-foot shed in the backyard.

The groundwork for power

What may seem like a straightforward residential upgrade required careful coordination and proper training.

The crew made a trench from the house to the shed and ran about 100 feet of underground wire to supply electricity to the structure. CR Electric added two breakers to the home’s electrical panel to support the new service.

“There were no obstacles. We just had to backfill by hand, which wasn’t hard,” said Keith Stump, electrician with CR Electric.

Even with favorable conditions, the residential electricians noted that this type of project requires experience and planning, especially when underground service and panel work are involved.

Finishing touches that shine

Once power was supplied to the shed, the rest of the electrical work was done to make the space fully functional.

That included installing outlets, LED light strips along the inside of the shed and ceiling lighting on the shed’s outside porch. From start to finish, the project was completed within one day.

The two electricians on the job are also cousins, and that made for easier execution.

“We’re a good team,” said Steve Desimone, electrician with CR Electric. “Everything went smooth.”

Projects like this underscore the value of hiring qualified professionals for residential electrical work. They require safe installation, proper load handling and making sure the work is done correctly so homeowners do not have issues down the road.
