Santon Electric, NECA-IBEW Electricians play power hitters with Boardman baseball project

The NECA-IBEW Electricians and member contractor Santon Electric funded a community service project to supply power and lighting to a new press box at the Boardman High School baseball field.

The electrical work, including underground service from the concession building, a six-circuit panel, electrical outlets and interior/exterior lighting, was performed by Santon Electric of Boardman with electricians from IBEW Local 64 in Youngstown and the Youngstown Area Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.

NECA-IBEW Electricians and member contractor Santon Electric installed electrical service to a new press box at Boardman High School as a community service project.

“It’s an honor to be able to give back to the communities where we live and work, particularly when our help involves an organization that makes such a positive impact on the lives of so many of our youth,” said Ed Emerick, training director for the YJATC, who coordinated the project with the Spartan Dugout Club.

The Boardman High School field is used not only by the school teams, but by Youngstown Class B baseball in the summers for league and tournament play and Boardman Community Baseball for tournaments.

“Thank you for your time and effort in coordinating and ensuring the completion of the press box,” said John Fryda, vice president of the Spartan Dugout Club in a letter. “Your professional contacts, as well as IBEW Local 64 and Santon Electric made a big impact on our fields and our 2014 season. The press box will be enjoyed by Boardman High School Baseball for years to come.”
