VEC, Inc. Electrical Engineer Ahmad Omishot, of Jordan, was sworn in today as an American citizen.

“I came to the United States when I was 18 years old, and my only goal at the time was to go to school, get my electrical engineering degree and then go back,” Omishat said. “By the first year, I was working, going to school and life couldn’t get any better for me. The longer I stayed here the more I loved this country and the people here, as well.

“America is truly the land of opportunity; America has given me more than what I was looking for.”

Omishot passed his citizenship exam earlier this year and is looking forward to the opportunity America has provided.

“Today, at 26 years old, I couldn’t be happier knowing that I will be a citizen of the United States and will become part of this great nation. Knowing that people came here from all over the world with the same dream and built this great country to be the land of opportunity and freedom for everyone makes me proud to call myself an American.”

VEC celebrated this milestone event with a small reception in Omishot’s honor at its Girard headquarters.
