Satterlee represents IBEW Local 64 at 25 Under 35 awards dinner

At just 30 years old, Scott Satterlee is being recognized for his role with IBEW Local 64.

The electrical worker union’s business manager, along with colleagues and friends, attended the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals 25 Under 35 awards dinner at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown as a nominee; the only building trades representative being honored. He’s also believed to be IBEW Local 64’s first nominee.

“Being considered for the award means a lot,” he said. “I’m grateful to be able to help represent our membership, drawing attention to the great things we have done within our community.”

More than 320 people attended the event in support of the nominees.

Showing support for Satterlee were parents, Lisa and Bob, girlfriend Chelsea Harshbarger, and aunt Cindy Wollet.

He was also joined by Cody Hilliard, Local 64 president and membership development coordinator, Mike Nemkovich, business manager with IBEW Local 573 and Mike Reiser, vice president of the industrial division at VEC, Inc.

Describing Satterlee as “reliable and honest,” Nemkovich said it’s important to be there for one another.

“We all work together, and we try to be there for each other. It’s helpful to have a good relationship, especially in times like now when we all need manpower.”

During his term, Satterlee is looking forward to continuing training opportunities as well as establishing a new website for Local 64.

Satterlee was nominated by Matt Wilson of Platz Realty, who also sits on the board for MVYP.
