Mahoning Valley Scrappers players and front-office personnel offered pitching tips and a behind-the-scenes stadium tour to U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant James Skok and his family during Scrappers Media Day, Tuesday, June 12. The NECA-IBEW Electricians, who are sponsoring the June 17 opening night’s fireworks display, donated its first-pitch opportunity to the Skok family to honor James Skok’s military service.
The Skoks are the recipients of the area’s first Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County Veteran’s build home, a project heavily supported by donations of time, labor and material from NECA-IBEW Electricians, including member contractor “Joe” Dickey Electric, and electrical worker unions IBEW Local 64 in Youngstown and IBEW Local 573 in Warren.
