Valley Electrical donates $5,000 to local mentoring program


GIRARD. Ohio — Valley Electrical Consolidated Inc. awarded a $5,000 grant to Sister Jerome’s Poor to sponsor a local college student as well as to provide mentoring for the student.

The check for sponsorship was presented to Sister Jerome Corcoran at VEC’s headquarters Oct. 31.

VEC, Inc. is the parent company of Valley Electrical and Evets Oil and Gas, which are NECA-IBEW Electricians member contractors.

Upon graduating from Eastern Gateway Community College in June, Brianna Spatafore will continue her education at Youngstown State University. Tricia Ferry of VEC will mentor Spatafore during this time.

Sister Jerome’s Poor seeks donations for living expenses for selected students to assist with gas, car repair, food on campus, clothing, shoes, books, fees and emergencies.
