Gary Gulu, owner of Gulu Electric of Youngstown, contributed more than 100 hours of union electrician labor to install the electrical services for the rebuilt American Legion Post 472, a high-profile community project on Indianola Avenue in Youngstown.
In addition to Gulu Electric’s services, the Youngstown Labor-Management Committee of NECA-IBEW Electricians contributed $1,000 toward the project for fixtures, and Youngstown Electrical Supply donated materials.
“Our veterans are unfortunately an under appreciated group, and to give back by contributing toward the rebuilding of this American Legion Post and recognizing the sacrifices veterans have made for America is the least we can do,” Gulu said.
The new structure is being constructed on the site of the original building, and the project was spearheaded by Core 6, a group of local businessmen who collaborate on community projects. General contractor Sam Pitzulo is among the members of the group.
